About Flowers of the Nation

A masterpiece by a South African folk music legend. This offering by Jonas Gwangwa has arguably been the most successful, enjoyed and a classic that beautifully captures the folklores, spirit and energy of the South African people. Beyond 2001 there could hardly have been a wedding events that did not celebrated to 'Kgomo' during the reception. Thuso Motaung used 'Flowers of the Nation' as a Sunday church bell for his radio programme. Even Generations (the local mega soapie) used 'Ledimo' from this album for its theme song.

And who can ever forget the haunting sound of 'Diphororo' (Bonus Track with vocals) which commiserated with the parents of the exiled youth during the vile years of the draconian apartheid regime?

Jonas Gwangwa is a name that will be remembered for a very long time and this album, 'Flowers of the Nation' will be top of mind for his admirers.
