Bukola Elemide, known by her stage name Asa (pronounced Asha), is a Nigerian-French singer, songwriter and performer. She sings pop, jazz musician and the indie-pop style as well. Asa is one of Nigeria's most exposed musicians. Her music gives music enthusiasts something unique to listen to as opposed to mainstream songs. Her music is influenced by various music legends such as, Marvin Gaye, Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Aretha Franklin, King Sunny Adé, Diana Ross, Nina Simone, Miriam Makeba.
She started her music career in 2001, however, her first official studio album was released in 2007. She has since released four albums and continues to make excellent music.
