Yanga originally grew up in a town in the outskirts of Cape Town. She was born to a Christian mother and became a baptized Christian at an innocent age and also started performing at a very young age. She started using singing in the church and at religious meetings, until she decided to go on to the hit show SA Idols. The rest is history.
