GHETTO RUFF is an independent South African recording label specialising in kwaito, hip hop, soul, house, gospel and rhythm and blues. Ghetto Ruff came to be in the late 1980s when Lance Stehr (current Managing Director of the label) formed the Cape Town-based hip hop group, Prophets of Da City.

Muthaland Entertainment, sister company of Ghetto Ruff, is perhaps one of the most successful recording stables in South Africa, having paved the way for many artists who went from nothing to stars. Muthaland offers a 360-degree service to artists and producers. Its diverse and experienced team specialises in artist management, label services, publishing, media synchronisation and music supervision, offering structured and professional career support to both established and developing artists.
